Frequently Asked Questions

What games can I host?

Minecraft (Vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Bedrock), Valheim (including BepInEx and Valheim Plus), Rust (including autowipe configs), Terraria (tModLoader and tShock), and Project Zomboid.

How much RAM do I need for a modded Minecraft server?

Light modpacks under 50 mods run well on 4–6GB. Mid-weight packs with 50–150 mods need 6–8GB. Heavy packs or anything with large player counts should start at 10–12GB. The Starter plan works for vanilla and light modded; Pro covers most active modpack projects.

Do I need to install anything locally?

No. Game server controls, file management, and the browser dev environment all run in your browser. Nothing to install, no SSH required.

What is the browser dev environment?

It's a full VS Code environment (code-server) running in a container, accessible from any browser tab. Includes a persistent terminal, language servers, and build tools for Node.js, Python, Go, Java, and .NET. You can run builds, install packages, and execute long tasks without losing your session if you switch tabs or reconnect.

Can I use AI coding tools like Copilot or Continue?

Yes. The browser IDE supports VS Code extensions. Install Continue with your own API key for Claude or GPT-4o, or use GitHub Copilot if you have a subscription. The Performance plan provides enough RAM for AI extensions running alongside language servers and build tools.

What happens if my server crashes?

Servers are monitored and will attempt to restart automatically on unexpected exits. You can also manually restart from the dashboard at any time. Backups let you roll back to a known-good state if a crash was caused by a bad config or mod.

Can I migrate from another host?

Yes. Upload your existing world files, configs, and mod folder through the dashboard file manager. For Minecraft, your world/ directory and mods/ folder transfer directly. If you need help with a migration, use the support channel.

Is there a free trial?

There is no free tier currently. Plans start at $12/mo for a game server only. You can cancel at any time.

What happens when I hit my plan's RAM limit?

The server will start hitting memory pressure — expect lag, slower chunk loading, or crashes under load. Upgrade to the next tier for more headroom. Upgrades take effect immediately.
